Four new shops are coming to Zona Rosa in Kansas City, all with one thing in common

Kansas City Star

Zona Rosa, the mixed-use shopping center near Interstate 29 and Barry Road in Kansas City’s Northland, announced this week that it has signed up four new tenants — all of them family-focused.

SafeSplash Swim School opened earlier this month at 8680 N.W. Prairie View Road, offering a pool for swim lessons for children and adults.

Owen & Graham plans a May 4 debut at 7101 N.W. 86th Terrace. The locally owned “baby-to-tween” boutique sells clothing, accessories and gifts. This will be its second location; the first is in Leawood at 11531 Ash St.

Also opening in early May is Toy Time, at 7211 N.W. 86th Terrace. The shop, founded in 2001 at Crown Center, sells more than 10,000 toys. This will be its third location; it also has a shop in Lincoln, Nebraska.

And sometime toward the end of this year — no firm date has been set — the national chain Kids Empire will open an 11,500-square-foot indoor playground with a climbing wall, maze, ball pit, slides and games. It will be at 7430 N.W. 87th St.
