Torchy’s Tacos to open up, up, up in Highland Village

In the five or so years since Torchy’s Tacos landed in Dallas-Fort Worth, the Austin-based company has spread to nearly a dozen restaurants in seven North Texas cities. Call it eight, actually, as a Torchy’s Tacos is coming soon to Highland Village, the small town located on the western side of Lewisville Lake.

The new Torchy’s is expected to open at the Shops at Highland Village in fall 2016, according to a spokeswoman.

Torchy’s Tacos was named in a Dallas Morning News list of the area’s best tacos in 2014. Our critic Leslie Brenner said, “Of all the Americanized taco spots, Torchy’s stands out as tops.” It’s especially fun to make a taco “trashy” — to remove the lettuce and add queso. Because queso.

Coming to: 1701 Shoal Creek on the corner of FM 2499 and FM 407 in Highland Village. Expected to open in fall 2016.
