Hillside Village Hosts Frozen Festival on Nov. 21 to Kick Off Holiday Season and Celebrate its Grand Reopening

Festivities include annual Magical Tree Lighting and Santa’s Arrival

CEDAR HILL, Texas – (Nov. 11, 2015) – Hillside Village will kick off the holiday season on Saturday, Nov. 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. with its Frozen Festival, featuring the 8th annual Magical Tree Lighting and Santa’s Arrival. In addition, the shopping center will offer a lineup of free, family friendly events and activities throughout the season.

Frozen Festival comes as Hillside Village is wrapping up its multi-million dollar renovation. Enhancements will include once complete by year-end a new children’s play area, Village Green promenade extension with bocce ball court, new covered stage, property signage, and added shaded seating, as well as upgraded landscaping and lighting throughout the property.

“This holiday season is especially exciting for Hillside Village as we debut our newly renovated Village Green and new promenade area,” said Maranda Auzenne, general manager, Hillside Village. “In addition to the improvement’s we’ve made this fall, we also have new retailers H&M and Charlotte Russe for holiday shoppers to enjoy.”

 

Details for Hillside Village’s Frozen Festival on Nov. 21 are as follows:

  • 8th Annual Magical Tree Lighting & Santa’s Arrival

Upon his arrival, Santa and Cedar Hill Mayor Rob Franke will flip the switch to illuminate the 100,000 lights on Hillside Village’s 30-foot, interactive tree. Located in the newly-renovated Village Green, the tree is programmed to play a holiday song every 20 minutes, synchronized with dancing lights.

  • Real Snow in the Village Green

Experience the magic of the season when real snow falls in the Village Green throughout the Frozen Festival.

  • Entertainment

The Frozen themed entertainment will be led by emcee Jack Frost, along with Elsa and Olaf from the movie, holiday favorites Frosty the Snowman, and other strolling entertainment. In addition, guests will enjoy musical performances by Rockestra’s modern string quartet in the Village Green.

Events continuing throughout the holiday season include:

  • Black Friday Holiday Shopping Promotion, Nov. 27
    Hillside Village will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Black Friday. Shoppers that spend $200 or more at any combination of Hillside Village stores and restaurants on Nov. 27 will receive a $20 Hillside Village gift card to be used Dec. 1 – 20. To obtain the $20 gift card, guests should bring their receipts (as proof of purchase) to Guest Services. Offer good while supplies last. Limit one per person. Must be 18 years or older.   • Santa Photos, Nov. 22 – Dec. 24

  • Pet Photos with Santa, Dec. 8 & 15 from 6 – 8 p.m.

Four-legged friends will have their own special time for photos with Santa. Dogs and cats must be leashed at all times or kept in an appropriate carrier while at Hillside Village.

  • Wrap Up Your Holiday, December 12 & 13

Holiday gift wrapping benefiting the Police Academy of Citizens Police Academy Alumni Volunteers is available in the Village Green next to Uptown Popcorn. For times, prices and partnering organization information, visit www.shophillsidevillage.com.

  • WFAA, Channel 8’s Santa’s Helpers Toy Drive, Dec. 4 from 5 to 10 p.m.

Hillside Village will host WFAA, Channel 8’s Santa’s Helpers toy drive for the seventh holiday season. Representatives from the station will be at the shopping center on Dec. 4 to welcome guests dropping off new, unwrapped toys.
