THE WOODLANDS, TX (July 26, 2011) – After three months of renovations, the H-E-B Central Market at Market Street – The Woodlands, located at 9595 Six Pines Drive, has a new look including an expanded wine department, a new cheese island, an expanded sushi bar and even a fresh fruit and juice bar.

The 76,000-square-foot store, built in 2004, remained opened during the transformation and H-E-B Woodlands Market Unit Director Zach Yeglin couldn’t be more pleased with the results.

“The new additions have allowed us to provide a better product and shopping experience for our customers,” says Yeglin.

Nearly every department of the store received some sort of update or expansion. Customers shopping in the deli will find a new case filled with a variety of natural and organic meats and cheeses. Just steps away, a flurry of fresh corn, wheat and flour tortillas can be seen spinning out of the in-house tortilla factory while warm baked goods and specialty cakes are conveniently located nearby. The store also offers an expanded produce section carrying more than 900 types of fruits and vegetables.

The renovations also doubled the size of the store’s original sushi bar and gave its candy isle a new look and feel with bold new colors, bright canisters filled with confections and a See’s Candy shop. Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy the hand-dipped chocolate bar which features everything from gourmet chocolate-covered pretzels and marshmallows to over-sized candy-apples and fruit.

Although H-E-B Central Market in Market Street is known as a grocery destination for most shoppers, the store also offers Blooms, a full-service florist where shoppers can fulfill their every floral need. Unlike most grocery-chain florists, Blooms can accommodate high-volume special occasion orders such as weddings or corporate events, including set-up and delivery.

“Despite the volume of work that goes on behind the scenes of a remodeling project, we made it our top priority to not let the construction hinder our customer’s experience in the store,” Yeglin adds.

Store hours for H-E-B Central Market at Market Street are Sunday through Saturday, 7 am to 8 pm.
