Allen, Texas (November 30, 2011) – Recently opened new stores at Watters Creek, a one million square-foot mixed-use development, were a big draw for Black Friday shoppers, resulting in a 3% traffic increase from last year.
New retailer Anthropologie opened its doors early to Black Friday shoppers at 6 a.m. Other newly opened stores at the center include: Oil & Vinegar, a one-of-a-kind retail store specializing in a collection of bread-dipping, cooking and high-quality extra virgin olive oils and aged vinegars; Ann Taylor featuring an assortment of chic career and casual separates, dresses, tops, weekend wear, shoes and accessories; Soma Intimates known for their luxurious lingerie, sleepwear, active wear and patented Vanishing Edge Collection; and Amabel Designs offering an extensive selection of fashion costume jewelry.
Shoppers also lined up to take advantage of the Watters Creek Black Friday holiday door buster promotion that included a free gift card with purchase. The event generated in excess of $100,000 in one day sales for the center. A similar gift card with purchase event is planned the day after Christmas.
