Trademark Property Company Hires Jamie Cox as Senior Vice President of Property Operations

Industry veteran will strengthen Trademark’s retail operations platform

FORT WORTH, TX (June 6, 2024) – Jamie Cox got a new lease on life after his heart stopped in college. He overcame open heart surgery and awoke from a coma determined to build a meaningful life and career in commercial real estate. With nearly 15 years of diversified real estate experience at respected companies such as Caruso, Taubman, Westfield and OliverMcMillan, his newest achievement is joining national developer, owner, and operator of mixed-use real estate Trademark Property Company (Trademark) as Senior Vice President of Property Operations.

Cox will lead Trademark’s on-site and corporate property management teams, assuming primary responsibility for all operational aspects of the company’s portfolio and bolstering Trademark’s commitment to ongoing, best-in-class operations and delivering outsized performance and returns for its partners and clients.

Applying lessons learned from past experiences, both professional and personal, he will utilize a pragmatic, goal-oriented approach in his new role, and is passionate about identifying the strengths, goals, and opportunities of his team members and properties. Cox prefers a “hands-on” approach to his work and rarely takes meetings in an office. He plans to spend substantial time “on the ground” at Trademark’s 17 properties, building relationships with management, operating and marketing teams face-to-face while getting a first-hand feel of each destination’s unique environment and the larger community it serves.

Growing up with humble beginnings on his family’s farm, Cox’s interest in real estate began with an appreciation for land and the different ways it can be utilized and developed. He has built his career working at some of the best-known retail and mixed-use properties in the country, including The Mall at Short Hills, where he managed 160+ tenants and 1.4mm square feet for Taubman. He also served as the Vice President of Operations for Caruso, overseeing best-in-class properties such as The Grove, The Americana at Brand and Palisades Village. Prior to those roles, he worked for Westfield in mall management and OliverMcMillan, where he managed the prestigious River Oaks District in Houston.

“I’ve spent my whole life pursuing excellence for the sake of excellence, because that’s what I expect from myself and my teams,” said Cox. “I wake up every day grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on people and places. Each property and ownership team requires an individualized approach. I find great satisfaction in understanding the unique needs and goals of an asset, and then running to deliver at the highest possible level while celebrating wins along the way. It brings great joy and purpose to my life.”

In addition to his impressive background in commercial real estate, Cox is a lecturer at NYU and Yale University, where he received his MBA. He also has a deep passion and understanding of solar power and sustainable energy, and he knows how to leverage new technologies to benefit the community, the environment and the bottom line, synonymous with Trademark’s sustainability strategy.

“At six foot six with a big smile and infectious personality, Jamie is impossible to overlook and hard to forget,” said Terry Montesi, Founder and CEO of Trademark.

Kevin Kessinger, Trademark’s President and COO added, “We are thrilled to have this talented leader join our operations team, executing the highest quality of experiences for our tenants, customers, clients and partners. Jamie is a natural extension of Trademark’s community-centric principles, and we know he will bring immense value to our business.”
