THE WOODLANDS, TX (June 1, 2010) – A wave of new lease deals totaling more than 33,000 square feet of retail space, highlighted by an agreement with one of the most prestigious names in retailing, have been signed at Market Street – The Woodlands.
Tiffany & Co., whose jewels have adorned women from film stars to first ladies, has leased approximately 4,000 square feet in Market Street to open its second Houston-area store. “The Blue Box is coming to Market Street and our tenant mix is taking a major turn for
the better as we are in serious negotiations with several other iconic brands,” beamed Terry Montesi, Chairman and CEO of the lifestyle center’s owner Trademark Property Company.
Market Street’s Tiffany & Co. store is expected to open in November in transformed space formerly occupied by Z Gallerie. The Z Gallerie store has relocated to a new corner location within Market Street.
Besides landing Tiffany & Co., Market Street has recently seen women’s fashion retailers Langford Market and LMD Boutique as well as Bobby Chan, the maker of upscale casual wear for men, all have signed and are now open in addition to Stadia Sports Grill & Bar.
“We have never experienced leasing activity like this,” added Montesi. “It’s a testament to Market Street’s position as the premier shopping and entertainment destination in suburban Houston and to the strength of the growing Woodlands-North Houston trade area.
Located in The Woodlands 40 minutes north of Houston, Market Street is owned by a joint venture between an affiliate of Trademark Property Company and International Mall Investors. The project is located across from The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, one of the world’s top amphitheaters.
Market Street also is home to Texas’ only Tommy Bahama Cafe & Emporium and one of two Norton Ditto stores in Houston among its collection of more than 70 fashion retailers, boutiques and restaurants, several of which are locally owned and operated.
In December, the project welcomed the posh, 70-room AVIA boutique hotel.
“We are always looking to create a shopping experience that presents a collection of retailers unlike any other shopping destination in the region,” explains Market Street General Manager, Jill Liccioni. “To be successful as a leisure destination, you have to have a real ‘wow’ factor and certainly the addition of Tiffany & Co. gives us that.”
