HOUSTON, TX (January 12, 2016) – Rice Village shoppers can soon experience the chic luxury beauty and spa destination Bluemercury, known for its exclusive and innovative makeup and skincare products, when it opens its first stand-alone Houston store in March.

Located at 2506 University Blvd. at the corner of University and Kelvin near Athleta, Bluemercury will carry best-selling brands La Mer, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, Nars and Jo Malone along with niche local favorite Natura. Additionally, the boutique will offer a full menu of signature spa treatments, including oxygen facials, glycolic peels, waxing and microdermabrasion. It also is expected to feature a brand assortment specifically tailored to meet the needs of local shoppers.

“I have been watching the Texas market for years. The Houston clientele is one of the most chic I have seen in the country, with a sense of style and fashion that’s akin to that of our New York City customer,” stated Barry Beck, Co-Founder and COO of Bluemercury. “We are eager to join the luxury retail community at Rice Village and to service its customers as the local, go-to luxury beauty destination.”

The announcement of Bluemercury is part of Rice Village’s re-positioning and renovation to add fresh, new-to-market tenants, façade enhancements, improved walkability, enhanced landscaping and new parking technologies.

“Creating a fresh, vibrant shopping and dining experience is all about enhancing our look and feel while introducing dynamic new retailers and restaurants,” says Rice Village General Manager Donna Molho.   “We’re confident shoppers will embrace the new Rice Village.”
