A new home goods store opened Thursday at the Galleria Dallas — and it’s not in any other mall in Texas.
H&M is expanding its home goods-focused locations, dubbed H&M Home, to the Dallas area with a spot at the North Dallas mall. It is the first H&M Home to open in the Southwest and is the 10th of the retail giant’s home-goods stores to open in the U.S.
“H&M at Galleria Dallas is a very strong store for us in the Texas market, and we were thrilled at the opportunity to expand the space with H&M Home,” an H&M spokesperson said.
The 7,500-square-foot home-goods division is adjacent to its existing clothing counterpart that’s more than 20,000 square feet. The two stores have separate entrances. Still, H&M Home is an extension of its origins in many ways. The prices of various goods at the store complement the prices of garments in the H&M clothing shop — bath towels, for example, retail at $20.99, and duvet covers retail at $64.99.
Quinton Moultrie peered into the store Wednesday. He said H&M Home stores seem to sell items with a luxury feel but without “outrageous prices.”
“This is actually a larger one than the one in Los Angeles,” said Moultrie, who manages the Galleria’s PacSun.
The H&M Home opening will also help diversify store options at the Galleria, one of Dallas’ major shopping centers.
“It fills a void for home goods,” said Angie Freed, general manager of Galleria Dallas. Pottery Barn left the mall during the pandemic.”
