Uptown Village at Cedar Hill has a new name to go with its new look: Hillside Village.
Trademark Property Co., the operating partner for the 610,000-square-foot shopping center said the new name reflects the garden-like look and feel planned as part of its multi-million dollar property renovation.
“We have substantial experience evolving shopping environments to exceed shopper’s expectations,” said Terry Montesi, CEO of Trademark. “We focus on keeping our core customers happy, while attracting new shoppers and tenants. That’s what we’re doing with Hillside Village.”
(If the new name sounds familiar, yes, there’s a Hillside Village shopping center in Dallas at the corner of Mockingbird and Abrams. But shopping center names are recycled in the retail real estate business all the time.)
After acquiring an interest in the Cedar Hill shopping center in the summer of 2014, Trademark gathered information with research firm Alexander Babbage about area demographics and what customers wanted.
Planned improvements include the recent announcement that H&M will open a store. The shopping center’s general manager, Maranda Auzenne, said several local and national retailers are talking with the company.
