Job Posting
Lead Engineer | Atlanta, GA
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and leadership-driven Lead Engineer to spearhead our physical plant operations and engineering team at Atlantic Station. In this full-time, non-exempt role, you will act as the crucial link between property management and hands-on site execution. You will balance complex, advanced troubleshooting across multiple trades—including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems—with daily supervisory duties. If you are a self-starter with at least five years of deep technical experience and a proven ability to lead and inspire a frontline team, we invite you to build your career with us.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Work Management
- Frontline Supervision: Lead and supervise the property engineering staff, strategically assigning, scheduling, and prioritizing daily work orders and operational functions.
- Central Liaison: Serve as a dependable point of contact for staff, management, tenants, and outside vendors; promptly address issues and navigate difficult conversations with a customer-service mindset.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to company protocols, health mandates, and local, state, and federal safety/regulatory codes (including OSHA).
2. Technical Maintenance & Specialized Repairs
- HVAC & Plant Systems: Diagnose, repair, and maintain advanced mechanical machinery, including heating/cooling units, hot water boilers, make-up air units, cooling towers, and booster pumps.
- Plumbing & Electrical: Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair commercial piping, fixtures, faulty switches, wiring, and ballasts; routinely clear main line blockages and manage basic building alarm systems.
- Structural Carpentry & Upkeep: Execute routine-to-difficult carpentry tasks, including repairing or installing door jambs, commercial closers, locks, and ceiling grids. Perform professional-grade painting and drywall/plaster patching as needed.
3. Preventive Maintenance & Facility Inspections
- Framework Development: Plan, schedule, and execute robust preventive maintenance calendars across all core building systems.
- Proactive Auditing: Conduct regular facility and machinery inspections to catch, diagnose, and mitigate building failures before they impact operations or the guest experience.
